VCMC Season Opener Draws 98 Drivers

Hot shoes new and old came out in force to VCMC's 2011 season opener this past Sunday. This was a shared event between the club's two autocross series: Novice Championship Tour and the VCMC Series. 30+ novices, including dozens of first timers, tore up the asphalt alongside seasoned drivers. Although the skies threatened to unload, the rains stayed away long enough so that everyone could enjoy a dry, albeit chilly event.



Jasvinder Singh Johal took the top spot amongst all rookies in his beautiful D-Stock BMW 135i narrowly edging runner-up Kalson Chan in an STS Miata.



Amongst the senior/intermediate drivers, James Yip, Linda Robertson, Mike Kirkwood, Travis Bowering, and last year's NCT champion Shar Abassi took the top spots in their respective groups.
