Riding on TBC Indoor Kart Racing’s new Sodi GT5 karts, 13 teams of fearless karters battled it out right from the get go. Unlike our regular autox events, the head-to-head racing brings a different dimension of competition where each driver attempts to out-drive, out-brake, and out-smart the person right behind him. Despite the intense competition, however, the racers were able to keep it clean for the most part, trading only the occasional nudges and rubs while keeping bigger collisions to a minimum. Bruises to certain egos, however, must have taken place as the karts trade positions throughout the event. 3 mandatory pit stops allow exhausted teammates to pass the torch down to fresh hands.

When the dust has settled, the boys of Team Troll Dads (Nigel, Ed, and Alex ) came in 1st with a total of 115 laps and the fastest lap record of 29.164s. Team Rich came in 2nd with a total of 113 laps, while Team Rico B takes 3rd with 112 laps. Between the 13 teams, a grand total of 1405 laps were completed, and our mission for the day has been accomplished.
On behalf of VCMC, I would like to thank our title sponsor – Open Road Richmond Scion – and event partners TBC Indoor Racing and Blitzgear for helping us with the event. Last but not least, I would like to thank our drivers for their continued support, without which this event would just not be the same.
By the way, the Food Drive is not still done yet! If you go to TBC during the holidays, feel free to bring more food items with you and drop them off at the collection box at TBC. The Food Drive will continue until Dec 31.
We looking forward to see you all in the upcoming year and Happy Holidays~
