On behalf of the ELT, I am excited to announce that VCMC will be having a presence at the Vancouver Auto Show this year, and our display area will be on the main floor alongside the major auto manufacturers. To make our Auto Show presence a success, we need to count on our members such as yourselves for support. Specifically, we are looking for volunteers to act as ambassadors of the club, explaining our favourite weekend activity to all interested auto show attendees.
The Vancouver Auto Show is taking place from Tues, April 3 - Sun, April 8 at BC Place Stadium. The show times are:
Tuesday – Friday: 12PM – 10PM
Saturday: 10AM – 10PM
Sunday: 10AM – 6PM
Incidentally, Fri, April 6 is Good Friday, and Sun, April 8 coincides with our season opener warm-up event. So if you haven't quite finished all your pre-season prep and upgrades, but still wants to do something autocross-related, Sun, April 8 would be a very good date to think about.
Each shift for the ambassadors will be 4 hours long, and we are aiming to have at least 2 people per shift at our booth at all times. For Friday and Saturday when the crowd is expected to swell to its largest, we will likely need at least an additional body.
As a perk to volunteer for the club at the Auto Show, you are entitled to free admission to the show when you are not required at the booth. (General admission to the Vancouver Auto Show is typically $15 for adults, and $10 for students.) To further thank our volunteers, those who are there for 2 shifts or more will receive credit towards a free VCMC autocross event. Last but not least, all volunteers will be given a club polo shirt to identify them as club ambassadors at the Auto Show. The polo shirt will be for you keep after the Auto Show concludes.
