  • Understanding readiness for Time Attack participation

    Hello fellow motorsports enthusiasts.

I would like to try some Time Attack. I have experience in Formula cars and karts from many years ago. In the last couple of years I have done some autocross and lapping days. I have the required personal safety equipment. What I am not clear about is whether my car will be allowed.

I have a 2006 BMW Z4M Roadster. The car is a convertible. It only has factory rollover bars, no aftermarket rollover protection.

I understand this car cannot be used for the VCMC lapping days without a factory hardtop or aftermarket rollover protection. However, when I read the CACC Time Attack regulations, it seems as though rollover protection for some classes is "recommended" and not required.

Can anyone clarify for me whether my car is eligible to participate in VCMC Time Attack events at Mission?

Thanks very much and happy motoring

    Cheers,
    Eamonn Glass
