  • Correct Class?

    Hi,
I was looking at what class my 2019 Corolla SE sedan could be, I was looking on SCCA time trials classification and only saw the corolla hatchback, i'm assuming the sedan is probably close enough just not sure. I have also added a cold air intake and a catback exhaust.
    Thanks,
    Seb

You would be in STS with the cold air intake, HS without, from what I read in the 2022 rulebook.

Last year I was registered in street modified in an RHD 1999 Mazda RX-7. The car has a mild street port, paralleled twin turbos, and aluminum race radiator, but otherwise is stock, with OEM cat and Mazdaspeed spec OEM muffler. However, my boost is capped at 7 psi vs up to 11 psi stock and my most recent dyno was at 220 hp (at wheels). I am running on 17" Toyo Proxis R1R on Super Advan wheels.

Due to the capped hp, is it possible to qualify for a less agressoive class than "SM"?

I believe any right hand drive automatically goes to SM.

Wouldn't one of the XS/XB/XS qualify as well?

Yes, RHD cars are eligible for XS classes.

Depending on weight (with driver) and tire width you will be XB or XS. If it doesn't make sense just go with XB - you're legal there for sure.

For future reference JDM is specifically excluded from SM, but many clubs allowed it simply for a place to play at local events. This was before the "X" classes.

Xtreme Street B (XB) Lightweight import and domestic sports cars
                • Eligible vehicles: All vehicles using an automobile-based engine (no electric or hybrid-electric vehicles).
                • Weight with driver (lbs., min.):
                o RWD: 2330

                • For Electric and Hybrid-electric vehicles: No changes are permitted to the tractive system or its
programming. Batteries, the computers and/or hardware controlling battery systems must remain OE. This

                sensors, etc.
                • Weight with driver (lbs., min.):

                      Hi Davis,

You should be able to find the event in your MSR dashboard here https://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/dashboard

Select Edit Registration on the right and it should let you update your class selection.

You might want to look at your mods and decide if they are worth it. I drove my son’s totally stock vehicle at last event and it had a great pax.!
