No Michelin eh? I guess they couldn't build a tire carcass that could take the lateral acceleration inherent to AutoX...

I'm fairly sure Motomaster is in there as a joke, or maybe Wes knows something that the rest of us don't

definately. there are probably 4 classes that any person who took a half way competitive car and changed to those would clean up.

                    Re: Tire Wars

Maybe next year we'll see the new BFG R1 knocking off those Kumho and Hoosier boys I just read Grassroots Motorsports' latest tire test with r-comps on a track (yeah I know, not auto-x ) and their results were:
                    1) BFG R1
                    2) Hankook Ventus Z214 (tie)
                    2) Nitto NT01 (tie)
                    4) Hoosier R6

The V710's weren't mentioned for some reason ...but they did seem to think that the BFG R1 would be taking some SCCA Solo National Titles in the near future. Just thought I would share!

I think the article tested the Hankkok Z214's (slicks). It was an interesting read, too bad Kumho doesn't have the size i want, i might stick with Hankook next year, its been working well for me!

Oops, my apologies! I didn't have the article in front of me at the time. I am eager to see how the V710's would match up against the BFG T/A R1 now

Well, as much as we all wanted to eat while Kumho was presenting... I am very pleased to see some of the new sizes of 710's they are coming out with as well as looking forward to seeing their new MX as direct competition to the RT-615's.

I also enjoyed the technical stuff as well...I learnt something so I was fine with the whole presentation...

Henry, if Kumho has any spare tires left over from testing/demos I'm sure many of the guys here would be happy to be beta testers for Kumho. I'm waiting for the 305/30 in 18" for the back of my car and I'll be more than happy to test out any tires they send me.
