This is a new event for us (and for me organizing it) so we have a lot of flexibility in the way the event will run. I've come up with a gameplan based on the Knox Test and Tune that we ran in the recent past.
The format I propose is a course that has a g-circle, offset gates, slalom, Chicago box, straight-a-way, hairpin and a sweeping bend. There will be a defined start and end where the timers will be. There will be no course workers at this event. Instead, we will send a vehicle out to fix the course only when necessary (approx. every 15 cars).
Drivers will line up and keep running. The driver can take any variation of the course they desire. There will be no run order, arrive at grid and wait your turn and run. That way there is no pressure that you might miss your slot if you are adjusting ride height, etc. No times will be posted on the web so that should really encourage actual testing and tuning.
Personally, I'm going to straight-line most of the course so I can setup the 911's boost controller properly.
The only things we have to watch out for are that speeds remain below 110km/h on course, all drivers must go through the defined start and finish which are being designed with ultimate safety in mind and all drivers must be courteous to our cones. We just spent $1000 on new cones and don't want to incur that expense again anytime soon.
Cost is $80 on June 1st, registration opens at 7:00am and closes at 8:30am. Driver's meeting at 9am. First car out at 9:30am. We end when we get tired
I will post the site map in a few days.
