wow excellent job getting the results up guys! (btw awesome event, went very smoothly from my point of view and i LOVED!! the course)

i found it was very rewarding to looking WAAAY ahead and planning your line and braking zones well in advance. the opening slalom into the chicago box and then the cross-over had a fantastic flow to it if you had the line right..and that back sweeper!!wooo! i feel sorry for my poor engine bouncing off the rev-limiter all day!

I too thought the course was excellent. It was great to stomp on the gas and let the torque flow.

Thank also to Hyedie for bailing me out by taking over the announcing duties. I should have never agreed to do it.

My daughter ahead of Sead??? Are you sure?

I think my 28 second run missed the box right behind the Chicago Box all together. That's why it was so quick.

My sincere thank you to Farz, who took over my afternoon work duty so that I can repair the car.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves today, I know I did. I was pleased to see the day run smooth and to hear the feedback from the competitors, both positive and negitive about the course design...although Mase and I DNFed it the first run out... (Damn cold tires!) It was fun doing the course design and as newbies to the whole course thing we wanted to do something different and add a little "zest" to it. We wanted a fast but controlled course in which both the novices and the senior drivers would benefit from. The course was all about control both car and driver. This meaning if you went in too hot or too spirited, into a gate/corner, you basically ruined your chance to setup for the next section. But if you did it cleanly and with discpline you came out fast and setup for the next section. And that was the basic foundation of the course, discipline. Allowing you to control your car and not having it control you.

          Hope you all had fun,
          Doug

P.S. I'll get you @ regionals Mase! Muhahaha!

First off, I want to thank all the chiefs who did a wonderful job today. Secondly, a big thanks for all the senior people in the club who did a lot of works behind the scene.

I'm very happy with today event. Although we started a little bit late, we still able to get 6 runs and finished by 4pm. The course was excellent and technical. Good job from Mason and Doug.

Once again, thanks for helps from everybody.

                  - Brian (silver teg)

Really good event again gang. It's nice to now go to VCMC events, as they really are running like clockwork. (you almost forget how smoothly our events run, until you run another club's event)

You take little things for granted, but I'm VERY happy to see the up and coming new people in the club taking the intiative and stepping up to help and organize club events. Afterall, a club, business, or association cannot rely on the same people, time after time to "do things", - it's excellent for the growth of our club and the sport in general to have people step up and take on the huge responsibility of organizing and volunteering for an event.

Big hat's off to the organizers today, as the event really ran very smoothly. Good, challenging course that had many senior driver's adjusting, wrenching and grimacing all day long to sort out their driving and cars, smooth transition from run group to run group, and excellent tech and registration.

HOWEVER, as I always will play Devil's Advocate (you guys know me..... I'm the most critical person at times.....critical but in a caring way)

                    1. Course working. Still had some delays due to people not willing to work. I saw 3-4 drivers trying to change tires/pack up after their afternoon session, and this delayed the event. This is still not good people. We are all there for fun, and all know you have to work if you wish to play. There is no "special privileges" for not working. Can't work.....find someone to take your place.

                    2. Timing and scoring. Farz, you know I've mentioned it twice now, but announcing is hard to do in sunlight as you CANNOT see the computer. I still think we need a cover or some kind of blind to go around the computer screen to help the person running / viewing it to see easier.

                    3. PA system. I had mentioned this at dinner a few weeks back, but is there a possibility to upgrade our PA system to have a wireless speaker system ? I may be dreaming, but it would be nice to have a speaker pointed back at the pits, so drivers can hear more. Also if you can keep the noise away from the timing and scoring crew, it may reduce the amount of "noise".

Wireless just might be a good idea, and if we can combine it with a big time display, the announcer(if creative enough) can walk around the grid and "interview" people on the go, before/after their runs... Sure it's a far stretch, but I think it would be pretty exciting.
We might end up with coverage good enough for Speed Channel...

First off, thanks to all the chiefs today which helped me and Brian have a smooth first time organizing an event:
Chief of course: Mason and Doug
                            Chief of Registration: Hyedie
                            Chief of Workers: Ernest
                            Chief of Tech: Gary Fung
                            Chief of Timing/Scoring: Peter Tkatch
                            Chief of Clean-up: Marc Sasso

You guys all did a great job and should be proud. As it was mentioned b4 the course design was EXCELLENT. Although I didn't run very good, I had a blast and after my 2nd run which was a DNF, I had what Joe had for his sig in my head "Go in slow, come out fast. Go in fast, come out dead". I experienced that first hand as I went in too fast for the offset gates b4 the last slalom and I thought I would make it, but I had too much speed to make it through the slalom .

We did not have any major problems or malfunction today. However Ernest had a hard time trying to find some of the ppl to work on their assigned position. This is a volunteer sport and as most of you know, none of the Executives get paid and TRUST ME they put a lot of time in the sport helping all of us have a good time. All they are asking in return is you guys be fare and at least help during the runs when you are suppose to.

Thanks again to everybody who made today's event a big success.

                            Omid

I'll work on that. Maybe I can steal a new NEC laptop from work the new generation screen actually uses exterior sunlight to show the text instead of trying to out-bright it.
