  • Looking for Nationals ride

If any of you know of anyone that would be willing to let me co-drive their car at SCCA Nationals, please let me know. Cliff, could you please post this note on the NW-autox list. I'm very easy on cars and tires and might even be able to provide feedback on handling/course, etc.

I have open wheel and closed wheel experience so either type of car is fine.

    Thanks,
    Farzaan

You mean National 'Tour' or Nationals in Kansas?

    Any car class preferences?

US Nationals in Kansas. I think the time is right, but the car is not ready yet for that level of competition. Class doesn't matter because I adapt pretty well to any car. I'd even go for an open wheel car, I find those easiest to drive.

OK, I'll post to NW-list and Evolution list and get them to contact you directly. Actually, send me a list of your motorsport career highlights privately and I'll include those in the post.

How about one of the Canadian guys without co-drivers? Would John Haftner or Alan Rae want a tire warmer?

John Haftner's Tui has a HUGE cockpit. I mean really really HUGE. I drove the car before and I am pretty sure that if Farz is adjusted right for the foot pedals, the steering wheel will be up at his chest. When Pat Ma drove it a few years ago, the expanded foam seat John and I made for him is about a foot thick. Alan's 7 is probably a better fit. Should give him a call in Calgary. Pat has his number.

So far there are 10 people confirmed going to Kansas this year. 8 of these people will be driving. Two of them are John Haftner's friends who will be crewing. His cousin John Coburn from Kelowna (he made the trip with us back in '91), and Ron, the welder (who did all the welding on John's car). Thinking about it, this might just be the biggest group ever from Vancouver. I think there was a group of 8 or 9 once before.
