  • VCMC 20th Anniversary Event July 6th and 7th

    Hi Everyone,

Our 20th Anniversary Event is just around the corner and our event managers will be looking for volunteers to help run the event.

My event team is as follows:

Worker Coordinators: Gerald Chen and Yarko Petriw
Registration Managers: Mason Yu and Doug Reyes
    Tech Manager: Rod Mores
Timing/Scoring Managers: Hyedie Hashimoto and Andre Yeu
    Course Designer: Farzaan Kassam
Chief of Clean Up: Marc Sasso
    Event Stewart: Cliff Loh
    Event MC: Johnny Sandhu

Entry forms must be received no later than 5:00pm, June 28, 2002 to avoid the $25 late fee, so if you have not yet registered please go to http://www.vcmc.ca/20years/registration.html and print out a copy of the registration form. This special two day event will celebrate the club's 20th anniversary and includes a banquet dinner at the Marriott Hotel in Richmond.

    Thank you,

    Guido Van Duyn
    Competition Director,
    VCMC Motorsport Club

I think you just have to hold a membership to a club that is sanctioned by the CACC. So everyone with some sort of membership is welcome

Hyedie is quite correct in that you do have to belong to a CACC member club in order to attend our 20th Anniversary Event.

Here is a link to the entry list so far; http://www.vcmc.ca/20years/E.TXT

One small clarification Guido, CACC does not require a competitor to belong to a CACC affiliated club to run a CACC open event. The only requirement is that they purchase a day licence and hold a valid drivers licence. (5.4.A of the Solo Events Rules). So you can accept entries from clubs like PCA without turning them away because they choose not to purchase a club membership.
You do require a membership to run a closed club (hence the name).
And to run a CACC Championship event (also an open event) a competitor only needs a day licence and a valid drivers licence. But to accrue points, they require a CACC annual licence, and to get a licence they require membership in a CACC affiliated club.

That link doesn't work. How about putting a link on the 20th Anniversary page? If there's one there now, I couldn't find it.

Is it still $25 for just the autoX Day. Is it Just racing on Sunday or Sat and Sun?

Can I just attend the Sat and Sun autox event but NOT the banquet? If yes, how much is the sat and sun event?

                          Can anyone clarify this? Thanks

                          Jon

I'll try to answer a few questions in one note.

Bryan, Jon, there are two choices available for this very special weekend:

                            1. A two day auto-x event and banquet with a one day individual component similar to a CACC Championship event and another day of the team challenge. The cost for this package is $95.

                            2. Banquet only which includes dinner, a gift pack worth more than $20 and an entry for the door prizes. The cost for this option is $45.

There are no other options as it would have compromised the quality level we are trying to achieve with this event. Lisa and the 20th Anniversary team have worked very hard to bring a truly unique event to our members and to the region. The team is currently negotiating with Theatre Sports to come do the finale, that's the level of quality we are trying to reach!
