• 2002 BC AUTOSLALOM CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!

Just another reminder that the 2002 CACC, BC Autoslalom Championship is fast approaching. Sat/Sun, Aug 3/4 2002 at Boundary Bay Airport.

This is your opportunity to go head to head with the top Autocrossers in the region and all the class winners will be crowned "2002 BC Champion". Next to "World Champion" what could be better than that!

We have a pre-registration form on our web-page. The selection boxes have been changed to allow the selection of both Sat and Sun without the Awards Banquet. While we would like everyone to attend the Banquet, we understand that some people may have other commitments so now you can run both days + a tee-shirt, for only $55! ( Add $5 if you miss Fri. pre-tech) So what are you waiting for ! Pre-register now!!

Once again I encourage you to try to attend the Banquet as among the great door prizes are, a FIA 5/6 point OMP Harness, worth aprox. $380 and also 1 free entry to the upcoming Sept. 16, Drivers Edge, Solo1 at Mission! Many thanks to Frank at Drivers Edge, and all other prize donors.

While we can't accept payment over the Internet at this time, I ask you to please fill out the form and indicate what size you wish your Tee-shirt to be, and also how many banquet tickets you require. Payment can be made on Friday, Aug 2 at pre-tech,or also on Saturday morning,Aug 3.

Please note that pre-tech on Friday is for both the BC Championship and also for CACC Solo Championship # 5 that will be run concurrently on Sunday.

Nice website. Though what do out of state folks do for a place to stay?

I'll be bringing Kenny and my tire trailer up. Will anyone be leaving car/trailers onsite Saturday night?

Yes, Jeff I belive you can leave your car and trailer parked at the site on Saturday night, However no camping is allowed onsite.

Hotels around Boundary Bay:

Best Western Tsawwassen Inn (on 56th Street, 5 minutes east of Hwy. 17) - 15 minutes drive from Boundary Bay Airport (604) 943-8221

250 rooms available - Rooms are $119 for single queen bed,
$159 for single w/ kitchenette,
$289 for Executive suites
Plenty of parking underground and around perimeter of facility
Lots of amenities on-site; within Tsawwassen's "downtown"

Delta Town & Country Inn (at Hwy. 17 & Hwy. 99) - 10 minutes drive from Boundary Bay Airport (604) 946-4404.

150 rooms available - Rooms are $99 for single queen bed
$15 per extra person
Plenty of parking available for trailers -- some on grassy areas
Good amenities on-site; quick access to Massey Tunnel

Sundance Place Motel (on Ladner Trunk, 2 minutes east of Hwy. 17) - 5 minutes drive from Boundary Bay Airport (604) 946-1085

25 rooms available - Rooms are $64 for single queen bed
$85.10 for 2 queen beds
$103.50 for 3 queens beds w/ kitchenette (taxes included)
Plenty of parking available for trailers -- mostly on grassy areas
Adjacent to a Pub and Beer & Wine store
No amenities on-site; but closest to Boundary Bay Airport
All three hotels strongly recommend that we book as far in advance as possible. As for group rates, Delta and Best Western requests that our guests ask for Can-Am Challenge group rate.

Camping:

Due to the nature of the active airport, there is no overnight camping at the event site. Gates open at 6:00am and close at 9:00pm

Park Canada (on Hwy. 17 near 56th) (604) 943-5811

Pricing: $18.50 - $26.50 for 2 people, taxes included
+$1 for child 6-12 years
+$2 for child 13 and up
Includes full hookup
Note: Quiet time at 10pm; total silence by 11pm or you're out!

Hope this helps,

Chris Beere

Thanks for all the info. I made my reservation at the Sundance Hotel last night for Saturday... then today I found out I need to work this weekend.<sigh>

So I'll just do a couple of half-day autocrosses at Portland Saturday and Everett on Sunday and work the rest of the day. Wish I were on concrete instead.

I'll definitely be back for the VCMC practice next Sunday though.... trying out a new co-driver for Nationals (Jerold Lowe). Since he doesn't *yet* have any national championships or national trophies like the other 4 I've tried out this year, he's going to have be tire warmer.<s> I just hope he still doesn't beat me.<s>
