  • SCCA Nationals Entry

I just checked the latest entry list and there are still a bunch of missing VCMC people. Entries have to be faxed in by Aug 17 if you are to avoid a $50 late fee and the late fee by Aug 24 is $150 US!! If you guys have questions filling out the form, let me know and I can help. We are planning arrive there on Saturday, Sept 7 and will there cheering the SS and DM guys on Tuesday and Wednesday. The bulk of us in AM, CM, ES, EM are runing Thursday and Friday. We will be towing back from Topeka on Saturday morning.

Missing names are Farzaan, Johnny, Alan Rae, John Haftner. I just faxed in Ken Seto's and Lawrence's. Go to www.scca.org and find the link to the Solo 2 Nationals Entry Form.

Talked to John Haftner today. Good chance he won't be going. However, Gerald might have a ride in DM.

807 entries as of last Friday and it's still climbing. I will be really surprised if it doesn't make it pass 1200 by Labour Day.

And 1250 is the entry cap. The ProSolo Finale sold out a month early... a fair number of championship contenders were locked out by registering too late.

This year will be the largest Canadian invasion in the 30-year history of SCCA's Nationals.

How many, Joe? Names? I hope Johnny found a CP ride.

Today (8/17) is the last day to enter without a penalty. People who are thinking they might go but haven't finalized their plans should fax in their entry anyway. Put in their own car info if they need to. That info can always be changed later, or the entry withdrawn.

I think the last record was 8 drivers back in 1996. Seven went out from Vancouver and one showed up from Prince Edward Island (I think his trip was longer than ours).

This year we have Gary, Alex, Blake, Ken, Lawrance, Gerald, Johnny, Alan Rae, Farz and myself. That's 10 of us. John Haftner decided not to make the trip and I heard someone in Quebec was thinking about going (maybe Cliff can confirm with that person).

                      Has Lawrance registered yet???

I also ordered a whole bunch of parts for the Vancouver Special and I am hoping that everyone can bring back something across the boarder for me and use up the examption to save me some taxes. Maybe that explains why I worked so hard in lining up co-drives for these guys.

                      Joe

Yes, David Larose from Montreal is heading to Topeka this year. He's the 2002 CNAC DSS winner and he'll be driving a black '87 BMW 325is.

                              Updated entry list. http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/na...002/entry.html

969 entries as of Aug. 14 and most of our guys are not up there yet. I just heard Katie Kelly will be driving Peter Raymond's Lotus 7 in DMod (our Alan Rae and Gerald Chen will be in DMod also). I will be watching that class closely since I will be writing the report for North American Pylon. Looks like it might be true that Chris O' will not be running this year.
