What:
NEW RALLYCROSS VENUE! Once again the WCRA Rally Cross series returns to Merritt for the third event in the Merritt Rally Challenge on September 14th. However, this time the event will be held at a new facility on much firmer ground up on Active Mountain just outside of Merritt. Come and check out this beautiful new location that hosts the Merritt Mountain Music Festival and may soon become BC's motorsport destination. The new rally cross track surface is ideal and the scenery is spectacular.
This event is presented by the Vancouver-based motorsport club, the West Coast Rally Association (WCRA). Currently the WCRA organizes several forms of rally competition throughout BC and the Merritt Rally Challenge is the third rally cross type event to be held in the area this year.
Event:
At the Merritt Rally Challenge, budding competitors will have the opportunity to sample rally-type driving on a loose gravel and dirt surface using their everyday street vehicles. This event can be done in an un-modified closed-bodied road vehicle, with three-point seatbelts and helmets bearing Snell 90 (M or SA) or newer labels.

Type:
This event will be a Rally Cross, consisting of a temporary course laid out on a large, flat gravel surface.

Entries:
The maximum number of entries will be limited to 40 cars, accepted in the order of receipt of entries. The organizers reserve the right to refuse any entry. Entries will be accepted until 09:30 on Saturday September 14, 2002.
Entry Fees:
Early fee: CAN $35.00 (US $25.00)
Late fee (after Sept 7th): CAN $40.00 (US $30.00)
Day Permit Fees (valid for September 14th event only):
WCRA 1-Day Membership CAN $10.00 (US $7.00)
WCAR 1-Day Basic Competition Licence CAN $10.00 (US $7.00)
All fees must accompany the completed entry form or it will not be accepted. All entries accepted after September 7, 2002 shall be assessed the late penalty. All cheques and money orders are payable to WCRA and shall be post-dated no later than September 7, 2002.

Directions to the start:
Active Mountain Amphitheatre is off a gravel road called Midday Valley Road in Merritt, BC. You head south into the hills on Voght St from downtown Merritt. See the Map in the supp reg's and follow the roads leading to the red "X", then follow the signs on the route. If you can't find it, call Mitch 604-880-2100 or Ken 604-808-0536 when you are close.

The Best Western Nicola Inn is offering to rally competitors, a room rate of $65 per night. The Best Western Nicola Inn is on Walters St, near the north end of Merritt. From the south, take the second Merritt exit, and turn left at the T junction onto Voght. From the north, take the first Merritt exit and proceed south along Voght. Turn right on Walters St and about 800m from the exit the Best Western Nicola Inn is on your left.
