• Club Practice Event # 1

Hi Everyone,

It's time to kick off a new season! VCMC Motorsport Club is hosting another sold out Velocity Driver Development Stage 1 on Saturday March 8th, this the first of two sessions. There is still room in the second session but please register quickly to ensure you get in.

Sunday March 9th is our first Club Practice Event of the season and we will need some volunteers to help the day go smoothly.

My event team is as follows:

Chief of course: Steve Kibble
Chief of Registration: Mason Yu & Mark Petriw
Chief of Tech: Yarko Petriw
Chief of Workers: Gerald Chen
Chief of Timing/Scoring: Lawrence Chan
Chief of Cleanup/Setup: Peter Tkatch

Please note that it is easier than ever to join our club and register for an event with our new online payment system.

Thank you,

Guido Van Duyn
Vice President,
VCMC Motorsport Club - Winners of 2002's Event of the Year Award!

I'm registered for the Velocity 1 class held on that day. Do I need to pay for the close club event? or is it covered in my velocity charge?

Yes velocity is a day before, but I am unsure if it also covers the close club event.

Entry fee for the CPE is separate from Velocity.
Peter: Oh my god, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits. It says, 'Oooooo.'
Brian: Peter, those are Cheerios.

I want to bring a couple of my friends out to the practice session. I was wondering if it is still the same deal as last year where if you join the VCMC you get your first event for free. So I guess what I want to know is it going to cost them there membership plus the event fee or just the membership. Thanks

It may have been. I can't remember. This year it is not.

No, it was not. </font>
are you sure, i thought i remember it was? </font>
For one of the sessions last year, the documentation said that new members would receive a free event (as all new members do). When that document was transplanted into the Velocity documentation, the end user thought that it meant ALL Velocity students would get a free event (including the renewals). Because of this interpretation, which was also confusing to us, we decided to honour the wording. This only gave an advantage to new members who already had used up their first free event and renewed members.

After that, the wording was modified to make it clear that new members get a free CPE as part of their new membership only and for Velocity, you get a damn good school and a really nice shirt. Hope this makes sense.

Steve,

I just paid online for my first event (which I just realized I should have had for free for joining the club). Can I get a raincheck for the second event?
