  • Announcement - Vintage race

For those of you not going to Kelowna here is something else to do on the May long weekend.

    Press Release

The Vintage Racing Club of British Columbia
Celebrates the Ford Centenary with racing at Mission.

The Vintage Racing Club of British Columbia will be out in force for a full weekend of vintage motor racing on May 24th and 25th . This is the fifth year that the club has raced at The River’s Edge Road Course at Mission Raceway Park in British Columbia after a nine year hiatus, following the demise of the famous and well loved Westwood racetrack.

Close to a hundred pre 1969 race cars are expected with an exhibition grid of cars up to 1979. A good crop of classic marques such as Lotus, MG, Jaguar, Elva, Porsche, Ferrari and of course Fords are expected to be in attendance.

As the VRCBC is celebrating ‘The Centenary of Ford’ we are expecting to see a GT40, a famous Ford Indy car, Shelby 350 GTs, Ford powered AC Cobras, many Formula Fords and even a 1912 Ford Speedster. Car Clubs from many of the competing marques including Ford will be bringing their cars for display. The VRCBC welcomes a number of new event sponsors in 2003 including the Ford Dealers association of BC, Yokohama Tire, LT Vintage Racing and Sports Cars and I.W.E.
