So close, yet so far . . .

Went to Mission today. I was completely focused on coming home with an 11 seconds timeslip. I even mentally walked through a launch, shifting, etc. Just like I do in an autocross. I had the boost up to 25psi, the weather was good, the left lane was hooking up ok. The right lane was slippery.

I lined up for the last run of the day in the left lane. I nailed the launch perfect (didn't bother to care about the lights because I wanted the ET, not the RT). The shift from 1st to 2nd sucked, got a pretty severe bog out of the car. Oh well, my fault, shifted too easy. Got the 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th shifts perfect.

At the timing tower, they were clapping their hands, I thought maybe I did it, maybe she turned an 11.9xx run.

They handed me the slip and I almost cried. 12.011 @ 118.48mph Maybe next time!

There really weren't any notable times. A supercharged Integra turned mid 14's if I remember correctly, but his MPH was a pretty good 97 or so. A Supra TT with upgraded turbos ran a 13.7 @ 107mph. I think we were the quickest import there with a VW Bug that ran mid 12's being 2nd.

The craziest car of the night was Dal's twin turbo Mustang. 8.54 @ 161mph! WOW!

BTW dude, I downloaded all the vids on your site. I also showed them to a guy I know in Cali with a '92 TSi AWD.



So far his best run is 13.67 @ 97.82MPH

I showed him your vids, he likes your car and wanted to know which turbo your car is running.

I am running a TD05-20G from Buschur Racing. Pretty low-tech in this day and age, but the little bugger produces the goods. Even at 25psi, it holds boost right to redline. I only start to feel the torque fall off at around 7000rpm.

The real success to this car is in the setup and tuning performed by Lowell Foo and Ryan.

Wait until it's in full auto-x trim next year. I think we have a serious shot at E/SP. I'm getting more confident in its abilities the more I drive the car.
