Overall, this tells us we're still pretty dominant. As usual the club is very strong in Stock and Super Stock. Our SP results still lag- the ESP standings really killed us here. Too bad Johnny's motor went KABLOOIE!! otherwise the stats would've been way more favorable. Looking for more VCMC names to appear in the win columns of ESP and FSP next year.

    Novice Top Gun:
VCMC drivers made up 11/20 drivers and finished 1st & 2nd overall, with 6 in the Top Ten. Good job. Our driving school works and Evolution school was a huge help. Thanks to all of you for sticking with a full season of autocrossing.

Brian Lau is CACC 2001 Rookie of the Year. Congratulations to Brian, and Gary Fung, for finishing 1-2 overall and in the Novice Index. VW Power Rocks!!!

Awesome Cliff! If I become president, this is one of the things I think the club needs to see after every event. When I joined VCMC in 1994, our slogan was "The winningest club in Canada" and I'd like to see if that's still true.

VCMC has had a lot of slogans over the years...

"Second place is the first loser"
"Winningest club in Canada" - a fact in 1991
          "Drive Hard or Drive Home"

We've definitely been doing better since 96 but I think there's still a bit more to be done so that we match the level of dominance in 1990/91. We had a great crop of novices this year and I think these guys and gals can definitely help us develop new drivers next year. Some of you can most definitely teach at our Level One School next spring with the knowledge you've gained. With the Level One School -we'll be striving to produce a top notch group of new drivers every year. Our evil plan for total world (er um...CACC) domination must continue.

We have to get the Evolution Autocross School people back up here. I would love to take the school and I think some of our senior guys should take it anyway just to gain more insight into national championship level driving habits. You're never too old or experienced to learn new things.

What's there to be accomplished? The big prize that has eluded us in recent years has been the ESP title. What can I say, most VCMC members love our imported cars and I think it's simply a matter of getting some more participation in ESP. Johnny and Farz seem to be the best bets for 2002 but depending on what some of our FS and ESS people choose to do overthe winter to their cars, we may see more of us in ESP. I would dearly love to see VCMC take the ESP Championship away from BCMA. The driving talent is there. Convincing some of you guys to give up VTEC for a V8 is a different story. Who knows, maybe you'll even see me in a Camaro (sorry, no mullet)

I wanna see more Porsche and Corvette people populating the big sports car classes. Too bad the IT boom has gone bust or we'd be trading in the Civic for a C5. Still, some crossover entries from PCA would help us in these categories. In general, the club should be shooting for some diversity in car types.

I'm really proud to be part of a group of people who love to drive fast and love to win even more. If you go back into the club's 20 year history, there's long tradition of successes. The great thing is that there's still lots to shoot for. I hope everyone returns next year to kick some ass.

Everyone should be aware that to receive a trophy for this year's Championship Series, you must apply to to Roberta Currie [email protected], by Nov. 5th.

Thanks for reminding us, Guido. Are you going to the banquet? If so, would you mind picking up my trophy?
