Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2 & 3 the ice racers are holding an event called "The Barnes Lake Shootout" near Ashcroft (which is near Cache Creek, east on Hwy 1). Thing start around 9AM with the races beginning at 10:30. Its a big weekend long event with a buffet diner and dance in Cache Creek Saturday night.
Ice racing for those of you who have not experiences it is usually done in an older, stripped out car on a frozen lake. It has a short but intense season usually from late December until the ice gets soft in the spring. Just the opposite of Solo.
