    VCMC - Velocity Driving School — May 27, 2017

"In competition driving, we only do three things – accelerate, brake and turn. To win, we must do them with Precision, Smoothness, and Control."
-Joe Cheng, Canadian & US Autocross Champion and VCMC co-founder

Velocity is designed to give the student experience in approaching and handling his/her car at or near the limits of traction. This course is recommended for new and novice autocross drivers, as well as more experienced autocross drivers who would like to improve their grasp of car control basics. Students should expect to improve speed, confidence, car control and ultimately, reduce lap times. Velocity instructors are dedicated to helping students achieve their first victory.

Though the course focus is on car control in an autocross setting, the skills learned here can prove invaluable in controlling a car in slippery road conditions such as rain or snow. In fact, some parents have included Velocity I as part of the education of their children student drivers.

Location: JIBC/ YPK Integrated Training Centre (Pitt Meadows Airport)

Re: Velocity Driving School — May 27, 2017

I am looking to join the May 27 class, website says registration closes May 25, but also says there is a classroom session tonight.
Is the classroom session a requirement?

I'd say the class is worthwhile to attend if you have limited motorsports experience.

its a nice place to ask questions, meet people, understand the science behind the driving.

            Hey Kevin,

While it's not mandatory I strongly recommend the classroom session. Unless you've been taught similar theory previously, you'll be missing out on a lot of value the course has to offer.

Furthermore, the gents delivering the classroom material are highly accomplished drivers and great presenters as well.

            Cheers,
            Peter

I should have said recommended instead of mandatory, but OK I'll be there tonight.

Is this the same as Velocity 1 but just an alternative date, or is this something that builds on Velocity 1?

                            Thanks
                            Tom
