  • 2020 VCMC Track Days

    Hello all,

As we transition to using Facebook and Motorsportreg more and more I'm going to make a catch-all thread this year for all of our track day dates. We have 5 booked for this year and the registration will open up in a staggered fashion as follows:

    April 27 @ Mission Raceway - Cancelled

May 25 @ Area 27 in Oliver, BC - Cancelled

    June 7 @ Mission Raceway - Registration opens May 18 at 12:00pm here: msreg.com/vcmctrack3-20

    July 6 @ Area 27 in Oliver, BC - Registration opens June 1 at 12:00pm here: msreg.com/vcmctrack4-20

    August 10 @ Mission Raceway - Registration opens July 1 at 12:00pm here: msreg.com/vcmctrack5-20

September 27 @ The Ridge in Shelton, WA - Cancelled

Our Area 27 dates will function the same as last year, with no first timers allowed unless they complete a Mission event with one of our instructors. The Ridge will function the same.

Please feel free to post any questions here, on our Facebook group or in a message to me.

The schedule has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, we do not want to risk anyone's safety. Novice groups are cancelled and no spectators are allowed until further notice if events are held.

Can anyone with experience help to discern the key differences between Area 27 and The Ridge? It's apparent that The Ridge has more elevation change and caries less speed.

You got it. Both phenomenal tracks in their own right. Area27 is definitely higher speed up into Turn 2, i guess even Turn 1 is pretty quick. Track is longer. Ridge has more elevation change. Are you trying to decide between the two? I'd say definitely do both. I know VCMC got unlucky with one of their days last year, but Area 27 is in a semi-arid desert region, chances of having a good dry day are much higher there. Also, the May date is the one to do, it can get HOT during the summer in Oliver.

I agree with Solorex -- do both and see for yourself which track you like better!

One major difference I would say is -- the route to Area 27 -- Hwy 3 -- is definitely a far more enjoyable drive than the super boring I5 LOL~

one of the old farts; used to be somewhat fast

NC Miata (aka Nancy) - #10 STR
DE Mazda2 - #29 STF -- the fastest 2015 STF car in the province!

Mission in April has been cancelled due to COVID-19, there will be an update regarding Area 27 in May closer to the event.

We have added another event on August 10th at Mission to replace the one in April.

Area 27 in May is now cancelled, all registered have been refunded. There will not be a makeup date in 2020 for this event. Hopefully things improve for our June Mission date.
